It was an exciting day for Calder Valley Labour with a visit from Angela Rayner, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party who we are campaigning for to be our future Deputy Prime Minister! She was visiting to support the local campaign to get Josh Fenton-Glynn elected as MP for Calder Valley. We need as many voters as possible to ensure we get a Labour representative for the people of Calder Valley!

She joined us at the GMB Offices in Brighouse, where she spoke about her vision for working people in our country. One of the first tasks she will be pursuing in government is to get the Employment Bill passed, which will bring in rights for workers from day 1 in a job including paid parental leave, paid maternity leave, and paid sick leave. It will also put an end to zero hours contracts.

Our members were delighted to welcome her to Brighouse as you can see from the grins on our faces!
