Once again Calder Valley was hit by flooding at the weekend. Our Labour MP for Calder Valley, Josh Fenton-Glynn, was out and about helping local residents and businesses during the crisis, and providing updates via social media to keep local people informed about the flood status and risks in the area.

He followed up on this in the House of Commons with an urgent request for support from the Environment Agency, highlighting the work done to combat flooding by local flood wardens, voluntary organisations like Slow the Flow, and Calderdale Council, but noted that more needs to be done, including flood prevention works promised by the previous government but not yet commenced.
